Axiomtek’s Highly Flexible 3rd/2nd Generation Intel® Core Network Appliance Supports 26 LANs – NA-551

Axiomtek is pleased to introduce NA-551, a 2U rack-mountable network appliance with the ability to support up to 26 Gigabit Ethernet ports and up to 6-group LAN bypass segment. The outstanding NA-551 supports the 3^rd Generation and 2^nd Generation Intel® Core™ processors with Intel® C206 chipset. It comes with four unbuffered ECC or non-ECC DDR3 1333 MHz DIMM sockets with up to 16GB memory and two front-accessible hot-swappable 3.5″ SATA hard drive bays. Moreover, NA-551 supports power redundant (1+0 or 1+1) for better fail over protection. For greater flexible and easy maintenance, the NA-551 has three front-accessible expansion slots that allow developers to configure PCIe LAN modules based on their solution requirements. Additionally, considering to expansibility for users, one Mini PCI slot is available for third-party cards. Its friendly design gives users the advantage of being able to develop network security solutions according to their demands and reduce time to market.

The NA-551 offers flexibility for varied applications and markets. It has three front-accessible slots for PCIe Gigabit modules. The selection of extending PCIe Gigabit modules with multiple copper and fiber ports includes:

• 4-port copper module with/without LAN bypass function (AX93306-4GIL/AX93306-4GI)
  8-port copper module with/without LAN bypass function (AX93306-8GIL/AX93306-8GI)
  ·       4-port copper plus 4-port fiber module with/without LAN bypass function (AX93306-8MIL/AX93306-8MI)
  ·       4-port fiber module (AX93306-4FI), and 8-port fiber module (AX93312-8FI)

In addition to the two default Gigabit LAN ports, the standard NA-551 model comes with 4-port copper module with LAN bypass function (AX93306-4GIL) and 8-port copper module with LAN bypass function (AX93306-8GIL), supporting total fourteen Gigabit LANs and four groups of LAN bypass segments.

The NA-551 features two hot-swappable 3.5″ SATA hard drive bays and an advanced CFast™ slot for storing event log. For easy access, the front panel also includes one RJ-type console port, two USB 2.0 ports, and LED indicators. On the rear side, the NA-551 has one VGA port, PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, and 300W redundant power input. Moreover, this powerful platform supports mainstream Linux kernel 2.6 operating systems.
